Working closely with the NHM team, Clay designed and built this immersive real-time 3D game. Visitors play the role of fledgling jays and uncover the remarkable intelligence and unique behaviours of these birds. The main challenge is to find and store food for the harsh winter, determining if the jays survive the winter and find a mate the following spring. The game's stunning environment and dramatic moments fully immerse players in the life of this remarkable bird species.
Additionally, our animation, optimised for a holographic display, vividly showcases the extraordinary behaviour of hummingbirds. These birds' heartbeats can reach up to 1,260 beats per minute but can drop as low as 50. Enhanced by the museum's special effects team, visitors can feel these heartbeats through a vibration pad, adding a tactile dimension to the experience.
