Medieval Women

The Medieval Women exhibition at the British Library is a groundbreaking exploration of female voices from the 12th to 15th centuries. Through manuscripts, letters, and rare historical texts, the exhibition gives a platform to the lived experiences of women – queens and rebels, writers and mystics, healers and labourers – told in their own words.

We were privileged to create the audio-visual experience for this landmark exhibition, using immersive digital storytelling to reanimate medieval women's stories in ways that feel intimate, immediate, and impactful.

Working closely with the British Library, we developed a suite of AV installations to enhance the exhibition's themes:

This project was about more than just creating digital content – it was about amplifying lost voices. Our AV installations use create a powerful emotional experience using sound design, medieval-inspired illustration, projection, interactivity and scent to ensure that visitors engage with history in a way that is both immersive and deeply personal.

Exhibition Design: Su Koh, Graphics: Irish Butcher, Lighting: Lucy Record, Scent: AVM Curiosities.
